How'd You Do That? Video to a QR Code

I was recently asked by a student teacher who attended a session I presented about apps in the early elementary classroom as to how I made the QR codes for my Arctic Animal Research Reports. Well here is a step by step way to take video from any app to your Google drive to a QR code. It's long so bear with me! I also put these directions in a Google doc so that you can print them off & keep them close by! Let me know if you have any clarifying questions! This all makes sense in my mind but you never know!!!

Before starting project
-have a Google account set up so that you can access Google drive
-add the goo.gl shortener to your chrome browser by doing the following:

1:Google search Google chrome store.

2:In the store search for goo.gl shortener extension

3:Download this goo.gl extension

4: You should see the green rectangle symbol now on the upper right side of your url bar in the chrome browser.

Now, back to the project. Using whatever app you'd like (such as YakIt Kids or ChatterPix) create a video of the students work and save to your camera roll on your iPad.

On your iPad upload the video from your camera roll into your Google drive account by going into your Google drive on your iPad and
-click desktop version
-click the upload button
-click files
-click from camera roll
-click the video(s)
-press done
It will then show upload complete on the bottom of the screen.

Once uploaded go to a computer and do the following:

Open Google drive and click on the file that you saved the video under. This should pull up the video on the screen like below

Press the share button

Press copy link
Open up a new internet tab and paste the link into the url bar and go to it by hitting return

Once there press the goo.gl symbol

Click on QR code

Right click to save as a copy or screen shot a picture of the QR code.

Save QR code as student name or video #.

Input QR code into a new Google doc

Print and adhere to the students work!

Use a QR code scanner & watch students, families & others be amazed! Let me know if you have any questions about the directions!!!!! Happy QRing!
